As a matter of fact, tracing is always rather random. One may say: "I am orderly digitizing road network" but hardly know which line will be selected at the next crossroad. Will it be right or left turn, line continuation upward or downward, and so on?

The most painstaking work does not guarantee against errors and omissions. Thus, it is reasonable to shift material automatically at tracing and check-up. The Inspector Tool is developed to make the process more well-ordered. The tool helps to review the entire project field methodically basing on the following general approach:

  • inspection zone is user-specified. It is entire project field by default;
  • frame size and overlapping of neighboring frames are user-specified;
  • inspection zone is divided in frames and you may look them through one after another.
Remember that Inspector enables you to move outside the current frame repeatedly and/or change the scale of screen output. "Move to next frame" command restores current scale and position first of all and should be selected again for actual shift of material represented on the screen.

Project field fragmentation in separate frames is particularly convenient for experienced operators. It helps to "clean" the current frame completely (leaving its limits many times perhaps) before you move to the next one.

Tool control is very simple. You may:

  • specify parameters (and may be zone) of inspection and start the operation;
  • move to next frame - 4;
  • move to previous frame - 5.
As project digitization requires several sessions as a rule, Inspector "remembers" current frame. Just press 4 hot key to continue the process after a break.

If you change scale or frame overlapping when review is already started, click the Continue button to avoid both omissions and beginning from the beginning.

Direction group

four buttons of the group allows one to select the route for data inspection. We recommend to use vertical or horizontal s-turn.

Scale

the field contains the scale of project representation at inspection and thus allows non-limited use of scaling at tracing and control. Scale change does not violent the order of inspection.

Frame overlapping

the field contains size of overlapping zone of neighboring frames. The zone will be represented in both frames that helps operators to orient at move from one frame to another.

Show inspection zone boundary

select the option if you want to see the boundaries of revision zone when you close the Inspector tool dialog box.

Hide automatically

select to fold the dialog box automatically when you leave it for inspection zone specifying.

Zone

click the button to make boundaries of inspection zone visible and editable. You may both change position of every boundary or move the zone itself (of course, if it is smaller than the project field). Inspection zone comprises the entire project field by default.

Start

click the button to close the dialog box and start review of the first frame. Inspection always starts from the upper left corner of the zone.

Continue

You needn't return to the first frame if you change the Scale and/or Frame overlapping parameters while project inspection. The Continue button allows to resume the process from where you stopped for changes.
